Pies and Cakes by Laura is a one woman baking operation, a cottage business licensed by Texas HHS, #2987. I am also a Certified Food Handler accredited through Texas HHS.
My background includes many, many years of foodservice to include La Paloma Mexican Restaurant, Jim's Coffee Shops, and SAISD as a cafeteria lady!

In 2016, after many difficult life events, I decided to retire. My passion turned to dog rescues. This year, 2025, I decided to scale back on the rescues and focus on a new venture-baking! As simple as that, and here I am, sharing my bio on my website! Life is good.
